Parent Teacher Conferences this week!11/5/2018 I am looking forward to seeing all of you at Parent/Teacher Conferences. If your scheduled time doesn't work, call the office and we will set up a time that works for you.
Your child is signed up for Xtra Math at school. However, it would be very beneficial if they practiced at home. Xtra Math helps with the fluency of multiplication and division. I see many of the students still looking at a multiplication chart for help. This is will make math very frustrating as most math skills we work on involve multiplication and multi-steps. If you need the sign up code sent home again, just send me an email. Important Dates Wednesday, November 7 at 8:30am - PTA Meeting Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, November 7, 8, 9 - Dismissal at Noon for PT Conferences-Lunch will not be served Monday, November 12 at 8:45am - 4th/5th Grade General Music Veteran's Day Program-Wear red, white, and blue Cat/Griz /United Way Food Drive-Root for your favorite team and donate non-perishable items to feed kids in Yellowstone County through November 14th. ELA-We will be working on a unit in Wonders that explores the question How do we investigate questions about nature? The literature we are looking at this week focuses on biographies and comprehension skills of text structure-sequence. We will learn about words with Greek and Latin suffixes. The focus in spelling this week is inflectional endings. Your child has access to Spelling City at home. Math-The students will learn many strategies for long division and learn how to check their work. Social Studies-This week we start our unit on European Explorers. What brought them here and why. The students tic-tac-toe projects on a Montana Tribe that they chose is due Friday. We will not have anymore class time to work on it. If they are not finished with their project, it must be finished at home. Writing-We are continuing to working on a narrative writing piece. Science- The students are starting a unit on space! Ms. MartinThis is my 13th year teaching in Billings Public Schools. I was born and raised in Billings and attended Billings Public Schools! I love spending time with my family. My daughter graduated from U of M and I love to go and visit her and watch the Grizzly football games. Sorry Cat fans! My son graduated from Billings Public High School and is playing golf for MSU-Billings. If I am not with my family, you can usually find me walking my golden retrievers Lola and Winston.
